FASCISM - gold ring patriotic to the country, 1935 - (SOLD)
SOLD - CLOSED
Subject:
On November 18, 1935, in response to sanctions imposed on Italy by the League of Nations campaign in Abyssinia, the Italians are "invited" (the quotation marks is a must) authorities to donate gold to the country, obviously starting from the wedding rings. To be sure, be joining in anti-fascists and Sleuth (Benedetto Croce gives his medal to the Senate, Pirandello even one received the Nobel Prize).
is not a truly innovative idea, the earlier date back to the war of 15-18 in which Italian, British, Austrian and French had been repeatedly called for similar transactions.
The ring in question, as well preserved as photographs, is a testament to that page of Italian history.
